John: When you said that you wanted to go away to school, all I could think about, my only thought was that you were gonna be alone. Vulnerable. Sammy, it never occurred to me what you wanted.

大学に行きたいと言ったとき、サムが一人になってしまうことを心配する余り、あのような態度をとってしまったと謝罪するジョン。サムもジョンの気持ちを理解し、ようやく2人は和解します。この後「貯金はどうしたの？」「武器に全部つぎ込んだ」で笑い合うという感動的なシーンです。思わずもらいなきしてしまったのですが、次の瞬間、涙も引っ込みました！

Ⅱの発売に追い越され、ＴＶ放映にも追い越され、次なる目標は「Ⅲ発売までに完結」です。ラストスパート！どこで中断したのかも忘れてしまってましたが、ジョンとサムのこのシーンからでした。

John: Sammy.
Sam: Yeah?
John: I never told you this, but the day you were born, you know what I did?
Sam: No.
John: I put a hundred bucks into a savings account for you. I did the same thing for your brother. It was a college fund. And every month I'd put in another $100 until...Anyway, my point is that was never the life that wanted for you.

ディーンに用事を頼み、サムと２人きりになったジョンは、思いがけないことを話し始めます。サムが生まれた日、銀行に口座をつくり、それから毎月college fund（学資保険）に100ドル積み立てたと。サムは、じゃあなんで勘当したのかと、納得がいかないようですが…。

ex:I'd like to open a savings account.
（普通預金口座を開きたいのですが）

Sam: This is why I left in the first place.
John: What did you say?
Sam: You heard me.
John: Yeah, You left. Your brother and me, we needed you. You walked away.
Dean: Stop it, both of you!

これが家を出た理由だとサムはつぶやきます。その一言がジョンの怒りに火を付け、本格的な言い争いに。またもや止めに入るディーン。そしてため息をつき、Terrific.（大変だ…）。ほんとに兄貴は大変だ。

Sam: About everything. Where are we going? What's the big deal about this gun?
Dean: We can q and a after we kill all the vampires.

ついにサムは車を止め、父親にちゃんと説明をするよう食ってかかります。q and aはもちろんquestions ＆ answersですが、こんなふうに動詞的に使えるとは知らなかったです。
